Warriors Remain #1

The Lewis-Clark State College Warriors remain at the top of the latest NAIA College Baseball Top 25 poll, released Tuesday, March 27th.

The Warriors (24-5) tallied 22 first-place votes and registered 669 total points. L-C swept a three-game series at St. Martin’s College, this past Thursday and Friday. The Warriors are playing in the 26th Annual Verizon Rainbow Easter Baseball Tournament.

The rest of the top five remains the same as last week, but two teams did flip-flop. The new second-ranked team is Oklahoma City (33-7), up one from last week. The Stars received three first-place votes in this week’s poll. Birmingham-Southern (24-4) dropped to #3. The Panthers recorded two first-place votes after posting a 2-2 week, winning two-of-three from Lee (TN) University and dropping a 9-1 decision at Alabama. The fourth and fifth-place teams remain the same as last week. Dallas Baptist (20-6), last year’s World Series runner-up, is fourth, followed by Warner Southern College (32-6) of Lake Wales, FL is fifth.

Albertson College (21-7) is the only other Region I team ranked, coming in at #8, down one from last week. British Columbia registered nine points and Western Oregon received six points.
