Warriors Retain #1 Spot

Lewiston, ID-The Lewis-Clark State College Warriors remain at the top of the latest NAIA College Baseball Top 25 poll, released Tuesday, April 3rd. L-C has been ranked number one since April 20, 1999.

The Warriors (29-7) recorded 21 first-place votes and registered 667 total points. L-C went 5-2 this past week at the 26th Verizon Rainbow Easter Baseball Tournament in Honolulu, HI. The Warriors knocked off two NCAA Division I teams, Centenary College and perennial power Wichita State.

The rest of the top five remains relatively unchanged. Oklahoma City (37-8), ranked second, picked up four first-place votes, one more than last week. Birmingham-Southern (26-7) also held its position at third, but only picked up one first-place vote. Warner Southern College (34-7) of Lake Wales, FL moved up one spot to number four. Rounding out the top five is Auburn-Montgomery (33-6) who jumped all the up from number ten.

Region I teams that are in the polls are as follows: #21 Western Oregon (20-7) debuts after sweeping then #8 Albertson College. The Coyotes drop out of the Top 25 and are sitting at #27. British Columbia picked up seven points and are ranked #49.

The Warriors host NCAA Division I-member, Gonzaga University (12-15), Wednesday, April 4th, at Harris Field, at 6:00 PM.
