Warriors Rout Wildcats, 10-0
LEWISTON,ID--Lewis-Clark State opened its second consecutive NAIA title defense with a 10-0 drubbing of Central Washington, in a college baseball game played at Harris Field, Saturday afternoon.
Yoshi Kimura swung the hot bat for the Warriors (1-0) going 2 for 5, both hits were doubles, with three runs batted in and three runs scored. NAIA All-America first baseman Trevor Brown launched his first home run of the season, a solo homer to left center, off of Wildcat reliever Brandon Klump. Brown also had a base hit. Matt Hellman and Gabe Stajduhar also added a pair of singles to pace L-Cs 14-hit attack. J.R. Crider picked up the win, as he struck out four of the six batters he faced, in two innings of work.
Central Washington (0-1) were led by Tim Akins and Jeremy Foxs two singles. Only two Wildcats reached second base, one got picked off in the sixth inning. CWU pitchers hit six Warrior batters.
The same two teams will meet on Sunday, February 11th, at 1:00 p.m.
