Warriors Excel in Classroom
Lewiston, ID-The 2002 Lewis-Clark State College baseball team has already gotten off to a good start, and they haven’t even played a game. The team posted a cumulative 3.01 grade point average in the fall semester and had 19 players finish with a GPA of 3.00 or better.

Heading the list is 2001 NAIA Academic All-America, Ryan Heitmann (Lewiston, ID/Taft College/Lewiston HS). The senior righthanded pitcher registered a 3.95 GPA as a Kinesiology major. Tyson Dietz (Rupert, ID/Minico HS), a freshman infielder, posted a 3.79 GPA and is an Engineering Technology major. Nick Browne (Santa Monica, CA/Los Angeles Harbor College/Palisades HS), a senior outfielder and Kinesiology major, recorded a 3.73 GPA. Righthanded pitcher Tony Caswick (Torrance, CA/Los Angeles Harbor College/Torrance HS) posted a 3.64 GPA in his major of Kinesiology. First baseman Mike Madrid (Silver City, NM/El Paso CC/Cobre HS), also a Kinesiology major, finished the fall semester with a 3.62 GPA.
