Bruce Leads WSU to 7-2 Win Over Warriors
LEWISTON,ID--Lewiston-native Derek Bruce hit for the cycle, leading Washington State to a 7-2 win over Lewis-Clark State, Tuesday night, at Harris Field.
Bruce was 4-for-4, on the night, with two runs scored and two RBI for Washington State (15-23). Aaron Hecker went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. Brandon Hundt (5-4) tossed five innings, giving up only four hits, and Garrett Alwert closed the door in the final four innings to earn his second save.
Brendan Ryan led Lewis-Clark State (29-12) with three hits, all singles.
Kevin Welch (3-1) went five innings, in his first start of the year, and gave up
seven hits and three earned runs.
