Warriors Move Up to #7
LEWISTON, ID-The Lewis-Clark State College Warriors move up one spot to #7 in the latest NAIA College Baseball Top 25 poll, released Wednesday, April 24th.
The Warriors (29-11) tallied 437 total points. LCSC defeated PAC-10 member, the University of Washington, spilt a doubleheader at Saint Martin’s College, and swept a weekend series against Eastern Oregon.
For the second consecutive week Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (39-8) of Daytona Beach, Fla. is the top ranked team. The Eagles received 20 first place votes and 665 total points. Oklahoma City University (41-12) remains #2, registering six first place votes and 646 points. Auburn-Montgomery (40-13), like Faulkner University last week, moves up seven spots to #3. AUM’s conference-rival, Georgia Southwestern (41-8) is #4, and received the other first place vote. Bellevue University (31-11-1) rounds out the top five, moving up one from last week.
The University of British Columbia (28-12) moves up three notches to #6, leapfrogging Lewis-Clark State. Albertson College (28-13-1) returns to the poll at #22.
Other colleges that made the 2001 Avista NAIA World Series field are as
follows: #8 Dallas Baptist University (30-12); #18 Indiana Tech (26-11); and,
#20 Ohio Dominican College (27-9). Warner Southern College picked up 31 votes
and Biola University tallied three votes for the Top 25.
