2002: Coming off of a 2001 redshirt year Furtado played an instrumental role in the success of the Warrior’s 2002 season...Batted .393 (team’s 2nd highest avg.) and collected 75 hits in 55 appear- ances...42 RBI and 12 home runs...Led team in runs scored (72), triples (4), highest on base percentage (.506), steals (10), total plate appearances (243), games played (55) and games started (47)...Selected Honorable Mention NAIA All-America second base. 2001: Redshirted but saw action in seven games, primarily a courtesy runner. High School: Graduated from Kapa’a High School (HI)...Lettered four years in baseball and two years in football...Selected to the All-Tournament Team in the State Championship...Two-time conference batting champion: .600 (2000) and .524 (1999)...2000 Scholar Athlete of the Year. Personal: Born June 9, 1982 in Kauai, HI to Clifford and Patty Furtado...A Kinesiology major at LCSC.
