Lewiston, ID- Former Lewis-Clark State player and coach, Miguel Inzunza,
was recently named recruiter/advisor for the LCSC campus. Miguel’s focal
point will be to promote and recruit potential students to LCSC from the
states of Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.
Miguel began his L-C career as a baseball student-athlete in 1994, when he
hit .340 and helped lead the Warriors to an overall record of 51-17. The
following year, Miguel hit.424, placing him 13th all-time in
the Warrior history books for a single season batting average, while also
holding down the 2nd lowest strikeout per at bat ratio in the
history of the program—1 in every 30.6 at bats.
Inzunza was drafted by the Cardinals in the 32nd round of the
1995 MLB Amatuer draft, where he played that summer. The following year,
he played for the Detroit Tigers single A affiliate before deciding to
return to L-C and complete his education in the fall of 96’.
Over the next two years Miguel, while completing his
degree in secondary education, served as an assistant baseball coach, and
a student intern for the recruitment and retention office.
Upon completion of his education, Miguel worked in Alaska for 6 years as a
teacher, and has now returned to the LC valley and his alma mater with his
wife Shannon, and their 2 year old daughter Isabella.
