The Warriors notched wins of 10-2 and 12-1 over Azusa Pacific at Harris Field. LCSC, which retained top ranking in Wednesday's edition of the NAIA poll, improved to 29-3.

The Warriors will wrap up their four-game series with the visitors from Southern California tonight with a single contest at 6:30.

LCSC got solid pitching from its starters, Chris Kissock and Shannon Wirth. Those two allowed just one earned run apiece.

In the opener, Kissock worked six effective innings to bump his record to 5-1. The right-handed sophomore gave up four hits while walking two and striking out nine.

The Warriors took control of the first game with a six-run fifth inning. Allen Balmer got the spree going with a two-run homer, and that was followed by run-scoring hits by Jose Castenon and Jessie Roehl.

The Cougars (20-19) played most of the game without their coach, Paul Svagdis, who was ejected in the bottom of the second.

L-C opened the second game with a four-run first inning, and were up 5-0 before APU scored.

And in the sixth, Zack Adam led off with a solo homer to right-center. Matt Vogel then cracked a two-run double to increase the lead to 8-1.

Vogel finished with two hits and three RBI while Adam notched three hits and drove in two scores.

Wirth, who improved to 3-0, allowed seven hits in his seven innings, but only gave up one run. The right-handed junior struck out five and walked two.
