COLLEGE:
Played two seasons at College of Eastern Utah, where he was both a
pitcher and a position player. Last year at the plate, he went
11-for-30 for a .357 average with one home run and nine RBI. As a
pitcher, he appeared in nine games and recorded two saves. Bumgarner
finished with a 5.23 ERA, allowing 11 hits in 10 innings, with seven
strikeouts and five walks. The team finished the year 23-32.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Played a variety of positions for coach Kevin Khaoury in his three
seasons with Copper Hills High. During his senior season, he was a
second-team all-state selection and collected nine home runs with a
.379 batting average.
PERSONAL:
Brandon was born July 1, 1986 to Bob and Janice Bumgarner in Moscow,
Idaho. His father, Bob, played baseball at LCSC, and his uncle, John
Hansen, was a basketball player at Brigham Young University. Brandon
has two sisters, Brianne and Becca. His hobbies are fly fishing,
hunting and snowboarding. He is majoring in Criminal Justice at
LCSC.
