LCSC’s Greene earns Region 1
Player of the Week honors
4-8-08
Lewis-Clark
State College senior first
baseman Kyle Greene has been
named the NAIA’s Region 1
Player of the Week for his
performance in three games
against Dixie State College
last week in St. George,
Utah.
Greene, who is from
Lewiston, became only the
ninth player in NAIA history
to hit two grand-slam home
runs in a game. He
accomplished that feat on
Saturday in a 10-9 loss to
Rebels.
In the three-game series,
Greene went 10-for-15 with
12 RBI and six runs scored.
He had two doubles and three
home runs to go along with
five singles. He also drew
one walk. For the series, he
had a .667 batting average
and a 1.400 slugging
percentage.
After starting the season
10-for-34, Greene has been
on a tear since March 8 and
has gone 37-of-65 at the
plate for a .569 batting
average in the last 18
games. During that time,
he’s also had two or more
RBI in 10 of those games and
two or more hits in 12
games.
