COLLEGE:
Played last season at the University of Illinois-Chicago where he
was a Horizon League first-team selection as an outfielder. He also
was a member of the league’s All-Newcomer team and was the Newcomer
of the Year in 2007. The team won the Horizon League title and
defeated Long Beach State in its NCAA regional to place third. Hit
.321 with 19 doubles, four home runs and 47 RBI. He also scored 24
runs and had a .506 slugging percentage.
JUNIOR COLLEGE:
Attended Everett Community College for two seasons where he played
third base and served as team captain in 2006. He was a second-team
all-Northern Region infielder as a freshman, then earned first-team
all-Northern Region NWAACC honors as a sophomore and was a
second-team all-NWAACC selection. He played in the NWAACC All-Star
Game.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Attended Timberline High in Boise where he played for two seasons
under former Warrior Larry Price. Was a third baseman and captain of
the team his senior year. He earned first-team all-Southern Idaho
Conference honors as a junior and set school records for doubles
(19) and hits (46). Earned All-State honors that year as well as
senior year when he helped the team to the 2004 State title with a
26-2 record. He again was a first-team all-SIC selection and played
in the state’s All-Star Game for seniors. Also wrestled one year at
Timberline.
PERSONAL:
Born Feb. 1, 1986 to Mark and Louisa Pingree in Boise. Father was a
standout second baseman for the Warriors during 1977-80. Has one
sister, Anna. Lists hunting, fishing, boating and anything outdoors
as his hobbies. Pursuing a degree in Psychology.
