JUNIOR COLLEGE:
Played two seasons and redshirted one at Everett Community College.
He helped the team to the league title his freshman year when he
went 5-0 and pitched 55 innings. He only allowed 37 hits. After
redshirting in 2006, he came back to post a 2-3 record his sophomore
year, making 11 appearances, including five starts. He walked 20 and
struck out 47 in 34.2 innings of work. He participated in the NWAACC
Showcase Game.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Attended Jackson High and graduated in 2004 after playing baseball
for three seasons. He was a pitcher, designated hitter, and right
fielder on the team, which won the league title his sophomore and
senior seasons. During his junior year, he hit .509 and earned
honorable mention all-area honors. Drove in nine runs during a
first-round playoff game and went 5-1 as a pitcher. As a senior, he
was 6-2.
PERSONAL:
Born Feb. 16, 1986 to Terry and Diane Woods. He has one brother,
Troy. Ryan played for the Seattle Studs and had a 1.22 ERA with a
5-1 record. He struck out 54 in 37 innings pitched and held
opponents to a .154 batting average. He also was the winning pitcher
in a 2007 NBC World Series game. He is majoring in Kinesiology.
