The Lewis-Clark State college baseball team nearly fell out of the NAIA Top 10 and stands at No. 10 in this week’s NAIA Baseball Coaches Top 25 poll, which was released on Tuesday.
Oklahoma City is the unanimous No. 1 team as the Stars earned all 22 first-place votes for 622 points.
The top four spots remained unchanged from the previous poll, which came out two weeks ago. Lee University is second, followed by Point Loma Nazarene and Spring Arbor.
Lubbock Christian and Louisiana State-Shreveport both jumped four spots in the poll to the No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, while Azusa Pacific, Union of Kentucky, Southern Polytechnic State of Georgia and LCSC round out the top 10.
The Warriors, 12-6 overall, were No. 7 in the last poll, but have gone 3-3 during the past two weeks. The Warriors have 397 points, which is sixth ahead of Embry-Riddle.
The University of British Columbia, which beat LCSC twice in a three-game series earlier this month in Lewiston, is ranked No. 14.
The Warriors don’t resume play until next Tuesday when they play host to Whitworth in a 6 p.m. contest. After that, the Warriors will play their next eight games on the road.
