Zach Hull, a standout athlete at Moscow High School, signed a letter-of-intent to play baseball at Lewis-Clark State College next season, Warrior assistant coach Gus Knickrehm announced on Monday.
Hull is a 6-foot-3 210-pound left-handed pitcher for the Bears and also plays some first base and outfield. Knickrehm said he will be used as a pitcher at LCSC.
“He’s very competitive, had a great work ethic, and is very coachable,” Knickrehm said. “We’re very luck that he committed to us. We feel he has a chance to come in as a freshman and compete for a spot on the 2010 pitching staff. He has a good breaking ball and fastball. We’re very excited he’s coming here.”
Hull tossed a one-hitter last season in a win over Sandpoint and dominated the Bulldogs again last Saturday in a Bear win.
Hull also was the starting quarterback for the Bears the past two seasons and earned second-team all-league honors as a senior.
Hull is the first recruit announced for the 2010 team.
