LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State College baseball team climbed one spot in this week’s NAIA Baseball Coaches Top 25 poll, which was released on Tuesday. The Warriors are now ranked No. 9.
The three-time defending national champions took 5-of-5 game last week to improve to 16-6 on the season. During their five-game win streak the Warriors have outscored their opponents 54-7.
LCSC earned 473 points in the poll and took the No. 9 ranking from Spring Arbor University (Mich.) which has lost three of its last six games to fall to No. 23.
Topping the poll, for the second straight week, is Lubbock Christian. Lubbuck is 29-4 on the year and accumulated 649 poll points to remain ahead of Oklahoma City which received 623 points.
Other teams in LCSC’s region also fared well in the poll. The University of British Columbia moved up from No. 16 to No. 13, and the College of Idaho received just enough votes to enter the Top 25 for the first time this year. The Coyotes earned 130 points to be ranked No. 25.
Lewis-Clark State kicks off a five-game road trip on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. game in McMinnville, Ore., against Linfield College. On Thursday the Warriors will stay in McMinnville to take on Concordia before traveling to Lacey, Wash., to entertain Saint Martin’s on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
