JUNIOR COLLEGE: Batted .328 (63-for-192) with four home runs, a triple, 14 doubles, and 39 RBI in 49 games and 49 starts for Santa Ana in 2008. Started all 49 games as a freshman in 2007 and led the team with a .391 average. As a freshman, he had a 29-game hitting streak, hit 17 doubles, and seven home runs, and led the team with 54 RBI. Was named the Orange Empire Conference Co-Player of the Year, and the Southern California All-American Player of the Year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterwinner in baseball at Diamond Bar HS. Earned second-team all-league honors as a freshman and first-team honors as a sophomore, junior, and senior. 

PERSONAL: Born March 4, 1988. Parents are Crispin and Maria Tarango. Has a brother, Carlos, and a sister, Gema. He is majoring in Criminal Justice at LCSC.
