LCSC: Redshirted in 2008 after having Tommy John surgery. Although he returned earlier than expected at the end of last year, he never did pitch. Instead, he saw action in the field and started one game. In that contest at Corban, he hit a grand-slam home run in a 9-2 win. Went 1-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Pitched and played in the outfield at Golden West JC and served as a team captain as a sophomore.  He was a first-team all-league selection both years.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Villa Park High in Orange County and played both baseball and football. He was a pitcher and outfielder and earned three letters in baseball, and was a defensive end on the football team. He earned second-team all-league honors in baseball as a junior and was a first-team all-league selection as a senior.

PERSONAL: Born September 12, 1987 to Jeff and Renee Cruikshank. Has one brother, Matthew, and two sisters, Michelle and Krystin. Is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology.
