Played a big role on last
year’s squad and started the
first game in the Avista
NAIA World Series. Allowed
just six hits in 7.1 innings
with six strikeouts in a 5-0
win over Fresno Pacific.
Posted a 6-0 record with a
2.40 ERA. Pitched 48.2
innings in 12 appearances,
including five starts.
Struck out 37 and walked
nine and opponents hit .219
against him, which led the
team. Redshirted in 2008.
JUNIOR
COLLEGE: Attended
Lamar CC before transferring
to Skagit Valley CC to pitch
for former Warrior Kevin
Matthews for two seasons.
His team won the NWAACC’s
Northern Division during his
freshman year and then
finished second in the
NWAACC tournament the
following seasons. He was
the North Division Freshman
of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Played at
Timberline High in Boise for former Warrior Larry Price where he
was a pitcher and middle
infielder. Also played
basketball for two seasons.
Was a first-team all-state
pitcher as a junior as the
team finished third at
State. He was named the
Gatorade Player of the Year
for
Idaho
during his senior baseball
season, and also was the
Louisville Slugger Player of
the Year for
Idaho.
He posted an 11-1 record in
helping the team to the
State title.
PERSONAL:
Born December 3, 1985 to Dave
and Carolyn Hawk. His mother
is a TV news anchor in Boise. Has three brothers,
J.D., Bobby and Kevin, and
two sisters, Nikki, and
Michelle. Brother J.D. played
basketball at
Holy
Names
University,
and his brother, Kevin,
plays baseball at Gonzaga.
Hobbies include hunting,
horses, and golf. Is
pursuing a degree in
Education
with a minor in coaching.
