LCSC: Started and played in five games before he tore his ACL and missed the rest of the season. Hit two home runs in only 17 plate appearances.

COLLEGE: Hit .330 in 35 games (21 starts) at Oral Roberts University. In 88 at-bats he had 29 hits, five doubles, two homers, and 15 RBI. Before ORU he attended Golden West JC where he earned first-team all-Orange Empire Conference honors after tying for the team-best with a .404 batting average in 46 games played. He also had three home runs, 34 RBI, and 12 doubles. He spent his freshman year at Sana Ana College in 2006. With Santa Ana he hit .330 with three home runs, five doubles, and 22 RBI in 29 games. He was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 45th round following his season at Santa Ana.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned two varsity baseball letters at Marina High School. Earned first-team all league honors in 2004 and 2005, and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 31st round in 2005.

PERSONAL: Born December 24, 1986 to parents Dave and Marilyn Murray. Has one brother, Mike. His father, Dave Murray, pitched in the minors for the Red Sox organization. Hobbies include lifting weights and playing sports. Is majoring in Kinesiology.
