LEWISTON, Idaho – Call it Snow 1, Lewis-Clark State College and Dickinson State 0.
After having play stopped for about 15 minutes because of snow only to restart, a larger snowstorm hit LCSC’s Harris Field just minutes later on Tuesday afternoon and ended the college baseball game between LCSC and Dickinson State.
Because Dickinson State was planning to head back to North Dakota following to Tuesday’s contest, the game will not be made up.
LCSC had a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second, but the final two runs came in on throwing errors in the second snowstorm before play was stopped. Because it was not a complete game, the statistics in the game will not count for either team.
The Warriors are scheduled to take on Corban College in doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday in Lewiston, but with below-freezing temperatures being predicted for the highs both days, school officials are looking into the possibility of moving the games to Salem, Ore.
