VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The Lewis-Clark State College baseball team got two complete innings in before rain halted play for good on Friday in an NAIA West contest with the University of British Columbia at Nat Bailey Field.
The two teams will pick up the game where they left off with UBC batting in the bottom of the third on Saturday at 11 a.m. UBC leads the contest 2-0.
The two teams were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, but LCSC coach Gary Picone said the schedule will now have the conclusion of Friday’s game, followed by one game. The two teams also will try to play a doubleheader on Sunday at 11 a.m.
UBC scored both of its runs in the bottom of the first inning on just one hit off of LCSC starter Cody Fassold.
The weather forecast for Vancouver calls for 60 percent chance of rain on Saturday and an 80 percent chance on Sunday.
