LCSC:
Was the Warriors’ starting
first baseman in 2010…in 46
games, including 42 starts,
he had a .357 batting
average which was fourth
best on the team…finished
the season with 65 hits, 23
doubles, a triple, eight
home runs, and 38 RBI…batted
in the middle of the lineup
for the first half of the
season, was moved to leadoff
for the last couple months,
and then returned to the
middle of the lineup for the
NAIA World Series…went
3-for-3 with two homers and
six RBI against College of
Idaho early in the year…hit
a three-run home run against
Embry-Riddle during the
World Series…proved to be a
very dependable first
basemen as he had just one
error on the year…led team
in doubles.
JUNIOR COLLEGE:
Played first base, third
base and outfield at
Cerritos College for his
father, Ken, and earned
second team all-conference
honors during his sophomore
season when he hit
.325…started all 44 games
for the team and had six
doubles, three triples and a
home run…he also was
10-of-13 in stolen bases…as
a freshman, he started 40 of
the 43 games he played in
and batted .244 with 12 RBI
and 23 runs scored…had just
two errors in the outfield
that season.
HIGH
SCHOOL:
Graduated from La Mirada
High School in 2007…played three sports…he earned two letters in
baseball as an outfielder
and also two letters in
football as a tight end and
wide receiver…he also earned
a varsity letter as a
forward on the basketball
team…he earned All-Suburban
League honors in both
football and baseball…helped
his baseball team win the
league title his senior year
when he hit .350 after
hitting .333 as a junior.
PERSONAL:
Born on May 26, 1989 in Long
Beach, Calif. Parents are
Ken and Debbie Gaylord, and
he has one brother, Adam,
and one sister, Jennifer…his
brother played baseball at
Stanford and was selected by
the Orioles in the 31st
round of the 2010 draft…his
hobby is playing
guitar…Business
Communications is Brian’s
major.
