LC sets youth baseball camps for holidays
The Lewis-Clark State College assistant baseball coach Allen Balmer and Justin Fuller, along with members of the LCSC baseball team, will hold a pair of baseball camps during the winter for youths at LCSC’s Harris Field.
The first is a Winter Skills camp on Nov. 26-27. Ages 9-12 will run at 9 a.m.-noon, while ages 13-and-over will be 1-4 p.m.
The camp fee is $75 and the camp includes individual teaching time with the Warrior players and coaches, a T-shirt, and Gatorade to drink both days. The camp will focus on both hitting and fielding skills.
The second camp is the Warrior Winter Hitting Camp on Dec. 21-22 in the hitting cages behind the Harris Field fence in right-center field. Ages 12-and-under will be at 10 a.m.-noon and 13-and-older will be at 1-3 p.m.
The fee is $75 and includes refreshments both days. The camp will focus on simplifying the swing and instruction pointers for them to take home and work on. Each camper will also have their swing videotaped so the campers can see what their swing looks like.
Balmer and Fuller both played at LCSC during 2003-06 and helped the Warriors claim two NAIA national titles. Both also played in the minor leagues, Balmer with the Giants, and Fuller with the White Sox.
