Lewis-Clark State College baseball players Brock Jessup and Will Thorp earned 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, the national office announced on Friday.
In order to qualify for the honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, have achieved a junior academic status, and have attended the nominating institution for two full semesters.
Jessup, a senior pitcher from Nampa, Idaho, appeared in five games this year and had an ERA of 3.52 with 11 strikeouts and four walks. Thorp, a senior catcher from Surrey, British Columbia, played in 13 games and made three starts behind the plate.
Both are Kinesiology majors at LCSC, and both were members of the Warriors’ 24-man postseason roster.
