COLLEGE: Attended Yavapai College and the Fort Hays State University where he was an outfielder on both teams…led the team in stolen bases every year at both schools…earned honorable mention in the MIAA Conference his final season there in 2010…did not play baseball last season.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Winslow High in Arizona in 2006…played wide receiver, defensive back, quarterback, and kick/punt returner on the football team and earned four letters…also earned four letters as the point guard in basketball and four letters as the center fielder in baseball…was captain of all three teams his senior year…was a three-year all-conference selection in football and two-year all-state pick...was the Region Player of the Year and State Offensive Player of the Year as a senior and led the team to a second-place finish…was the Gatorade and Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year…team won the region title all four seasons…in basketball, he was an all-state pick twice and an all-conference selection three times…led team to region title twice and was the Region Player of the Year as a senior…in baseball he was the State Player of the Year, a two-time Region Player of the Year…held six state records and helped the team win four region titles…was three-time all-region and all-state pick and helped an Arizona team win the Sunbelt Classic for the first time.

 

PERSONAL: Born Jan. 7, 1988 in West Jordan, Utah to Ron and Donna Payne…has two brothers, Logan and A.C., and two sisters, Afton and Charn…dad played one year of football at Ricks College and A.C. played football at the University of New Mexico…major is Sports Administration…hobbies include cliff jumping, sports, working out, music, BMX, and blowing things up.
