PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Finished sixth on last year’s University of Washington team with a .274 average…started 36 of the 45 games he played in and went 40-of-146 at the plate with six doubles and 16 RBI…had a .997 fielding percentage…made just one error all season…hit.240 in conference play with three doubles…appeared in 23 of the team’s 27 league games, but UW went 6-12 in league play and just 17-37 overall…as a true freshman, he  played in 23 games and started nine...seven starts at designated hitter and two at first base...batted .296 in Pac-10 play, making six starts in conference games... 1-for-4 as the starting DH on opening day...closed out the season with hits in six of his final seven games...2-for-3 in two games at Oregon State...3-for-8 with two RBI and a double in the last two games of the Oregon series...also hit safely in two starts at USC to close out the year...spent the summer with the Wenatchee (Wash.) AppleSox, the champions of the West Coast League...batted .339 with five homers, 14 doubles and 37 runs batted in...fourth in the league in batting and third in homers and RBI.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played three seasons on varsity at Liberty in Renton...the 3A state co-player of the year and KingCo 3A MVP as a senior...as a senior, led the KingCo 3A with nine homers and also led the league in RBI (24), runs (25) and slugging (1.182) while batting .469 in league play...hit 12 homers including the postseason...led Patriots to the league title as a senior...as a junior, hit .311 and led his league with 14 walks...also led the league with three saves...named to the all-league first team as a utility player and second-team all-state as an infielder as a junior...as a sophomore, led the KingCo with a .519 batting average and nine doubles and was first-team all-league DH...selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 28th round of the 2009 Major League draft...also a standout basketball player.

 

PERSONAL: Born Oct. 8, 1991 in Seattle…parents are Keith and Michele Peterson, and he has one brother, Darren…Father was a standout baseball player for LCSC during 1985 season…plans to major in Sociology…hobbies include sports, fishing, and boating.
