Lewis-Clark State College baseball player Brady Steiger was chosen as the NAIA West Red Lion Player of the Week, league officials announced on Monday.
Steiger, a junior from Port Orchard, Wash., helped lead the Warriors to a four-game sweep over league foe Oregon Tech last Friday and Saturday. The team has now won eight straight.
The left-handed-hitting corner infielder was 12-of-16 at the plate with five doubles, two home runs, nine runs scored, and seven runs batted in. Steiger also had two stolen bases.
The series lifted his team-leading batting average to .482. He also leads the team in RBI’s (28) and runs scored (29).
Last week Lewis-Clark State’s Cody Lavalli was tabbed as the NAIA West’s Player of the Week, while Carsen Nylund received Pitcher of the Week honors.
The No. 8 Warriors are in Daytona Beach, Fla., this week for six games including four against No. 7 Embry-Riddle and one apiece against No. 13 St. Thomas and Webber International.
