Lewis-Clark State College senior infielder Bobby Joe Tannehill was named the NAIA West Red Lion Player of the Week, league officials announced on Monday.
Tannehill, from Auburn, Wash., had two home runs, one from each side of the plate, to go along with five runs batted in during the Warriors 12-9 win over British Columbia on Sunday in the series finale between the two teams.
Tannehill now has six homers on the season, and is batting .310 with 29 RBI to go along with improved defensive play at shortstop. Tannehill is fielding at a .950 clip and has handled 222 chances.
In the four-game series against British Columbia, Tannehill went 9-for-19 (.474) with five runs scored and seven RBI and helped the seventh-ranked Warriors to a pair of victories.
This is the fourth NAIA West Player of the Week Award for the LCSC Warriors, with Cody Lavalli winning the award twice and Brady Steiger once.
LCSC wraps up its regular season with the Inland Cellular Tournament Saturday and Sunday at Harris Field. The Warriors will play Linfield on Saturday night, followed by games with Pacific Lutheran and Whitworth on Sunday.
