Keith Foulke        KEITH FOULKE

MLB Career Recap: Debuted in 1997 with the San Francisco Giants. Later in 1999 Foulke was traded to the Chicago White Sox, where he spent the next five years. At Chicago he averaged an ERA of under 3.00 and was the “go-to-man” in their bullpen. By 1999 Foulke had established himself as one of the top relievers, if not the top, in the American League. During 2000 he was a member of the World touring U.S. team, and in 2001 he recorded a remarkable 42 saves (second highest in White Sox history). With a myriad of other accomplishments during 2002, Foulke recorded his 100th career save on September 26. As a new part of the Oakland Athletic’s roster, Foulke, in 2003, had another stellar year and was named to the American League All-Star Team. 2003 numbers include, a 9-1 record, 2.08 ERA, and a career high 43 saves. In 2004 he signed with Boston. Foulke carried his impressive 2004 regular season performance, into the post-season and helped Boston claim their first World Series title in 86 years. He, in fact, threw the final out of the 2004 World Series.
As a Warrior: During his 1994 season with LCSC, Foulke went 10-3, posting a 2.59 ERA, and 94 strikeouts.

Steve Reed signed with the Baltimore Orioles in the off season, and is tied for the major league record with 50 or more appearances in 13 straight seasons. With 800 appearances, he stands 29th overall in MLB history. In 2004, Steve appeared in 65 games for the Rockies, striking out 38 batters and posting a 3.68 ERA

In 2003, Reed returned to the Colorado Rockies for a second stint with the club. In 2003, the former Warrior posted a 5-3 record and an ERA of 3.27. In 67 appearances with the Rockies, Reed struck out 39 batters. After the 2003 season Reed signed a free agent contract to stay with the club in 2004.

In 2000, with the Indians, Reed made 57 appearances, third on the team, and went 2-0 with a 4.34 ERA. An elbow injury sidelined Reed for the 1999 postseason, which hurt the Indians’ chances against the Boston Red Sox.

He started the 1998 season with the San Francisco Giants and then was traded to the Indians midway through the season.

He has posted some of the top numbers in the big leagues the past few years for set up men. He has a reputation of being a fierce competitor who always willing to take the ball, as evidenced by his 739 career games.

Signed as a non-drafted free agent by San Francisco…pitched five seasons in the Giants organization until the Rockies selected him in the third round of the 1992 Expansion Draft (60th overall)…was a member of Colorado’s inaugural ball club in 1993 and a part of the 1995 Wild Card team…has pitched with the Giants (1998), Indians (2001), Braves (2001), Padres (2002), and Mets (2002) since leaving Denver after the 1997 season.

Reed was the winning pitcher for the Warriors in the 1987 and 1988 World Series Championship games.
