Started his Major League career at Florida in 1998. Had a five year career
as a key reliever with Florida, with his best season coming in 2000 when he held
a 5-3 record with a 4.06 ERA. After short stints with Colorado

time and lackluster performances Darensbourg’s career seemed to be winding down
in 2004.
2005 Highlights:
After pitching extremely well at Tripe-A Toledo, the Detroit
Tigers called Darensbourg back to the Majors. Once in Detroit, the sidearm lefty
posted some of the best numbers of his career. Statistics for 2005 include, in
22 games and 22.1 innings, a .231 opponent batting average for lefthanders, a
.208 opponent average with runners in scoring position, and a 2.82 ERA. At the
end of the season Darensbourg became a free agent.
