Update
(January 30, 2008): He is a non-roster invitee this spring to
the Rangers’ training camp.
On October 11, 2007 Ellison
refused an outright assignment offered by the Cincinnati
Reds and elected free agency. Ellison batted .188, hit a
homerun, a double, and stole a base in 37 games with the
Reds in 2007.
MLB Career Recap:
On August 3 Ellison was replaced on the Mariners 25 man
active-roster by Rainiers' twenty-two-year-old outfielder
Adam Jones. After being
designated for assignment, Ellison was picked up by the
Cincinnati Reds. As a
Mariner, Ellison was batting .283 in 63 games and 46
at-bats. Ellison has no clear role on the Reds roster so
far, but will see time as a pinch runner, hitter, and backup
outfielder. He played his first game for the Reds on August
9 (pinch ran). Click on the link below to read a recent

late-inning pinch-runner, Ellison hit his first major league home run off LA’s
Edwin Jackson at Dodger Stadium October 3, 2004.
