Update:
(January 20, 2008) After bouncing between Triple-A Memphis and
St. Louis early in June, Ryan took over as the Cardinals regular
shortstop when David Eckstein missed nearly two months with an injury.
Ryan made the most of the opportunity by hitting .289 with St. Louis. At
times, he batted leadoff, seventh, eight, and ninth in the lineup. He
played in 67 games and went 52-of-180 with 30 runs, nine doubles, and
four home runs. He was selected by St. Louis in the seventh rounds of
the 2003 draft with the 215th pick overall.
