1985: Lewis-Clark State College Baseball NAIA World Series Championship No. 2 LEWISTON, Idaho -- The Warriors hoped for a repeat in 1985 and got off to a much better start than the previous season with a 7-1 thrashing of Grand View, Iowa, in their tournament opener. And it only got easier. LCSC blasted North Georgia 17-1 and followed that with a 17-2 win over Southern California College. It became tougher at that point as Dallas Baptist, Texas, provided a test for the Warriors. But LCSC prevailed 8-3, setting up a matchup with respected national power St. Francis, Ill. The Fighting Saints topped the Warriors 9-7 but then were eliminated by Dallas Baptist. In the title game against
Dallas Baptist, the Warriors fell behind 5-0 in the second inning.
But LCSC ought back with the long ball to take its second straight
championship before a record crowd of 5,121 at Harris Field.
