1989: Lewis-Clark State College Baseball NAIA World Series Championship No. 5 LEWISTON, Idaho -- The Warriors closed out the decade of the 1980s with their fifth title, all at Harris Field. LCSC opened series play with a 7-3 win over Point Park, Pa., and then dumped Hawaii-Hilo 12-6. St. Francis, Ill., put up a fight before falling 7-4, and the Warriors improved to 4-0 in the series with a 12-4 win over Oklahoma Baptist. After eliminating North Florida 10-5, St. Francis stood in the way of LCSC's fifth national championship. The title game, won by LCSC 5-2, was the lowest
scoring championship game since 1977. The Warriors posted a 6-0 tournament record, using
some big performances from different players each night.
