Warriors Sign Golf Recruit

Bend Native Commits To Play In the Fall of 2005

December 7, 2004

LEWISTON, ID- Lewis-Clark State College head men’s and women’s golf coach Paul Thompson announced Wednesday afternoon that Blake Amberson, from Bend, OR, has signed a letter of intent to attend the school and play golf.

“Were excited to see what Blake can do for our team in the fall of 2005,” said Thompson.  “He comes from a very strong golf background.  With his father a PGA golf member, he’s been raised around the game his whole life.”

A senior at Mt. View high school, Amberson currently ranks 8th as a junior golfer in the state of Oregon.  An Oregon Hogan Cup team qualifier this past summer, Blake was also named Mt View high school MVP his sophomore and junior years.

“Blake has a very strong golf game and should make an immediate impact in our program”,   stated Thompson.

The Warrior men’s golf team is currently ranked 17th nationally, and kick off there spring schedule on February 14th, as they play in the Inland Collegiate Challenge hosted at the Clarkston golf and country club.
