Lady Warriors claim top
honors; Men finish second at
Montana Techís golf
Butte, MT- The third and final round came to a close Tuesday afternoon in
Butte, Montana, and the L-C women walked away convincingly from the
Frontier Conference golf tournament, shooting a team best 984 to claim the
title. The second closest team was Rocky Mountain, where they finished 27
strokes behind the Lady Warriors. The opening golf tournament of the fall
season, hosted by
Tech, found 5 Warriors shooting scores in the overall top ten, including
medalist winner Nikki Olson (shown here). Olson, a sophomore from
Meridian, Idaho, finished the 3 round par 72 course with a total of 235.
On the menís side, L-C found themselves in a three way battle for the top
team spot. Tech ended up edging out L-C by 6 strokes to take the
tournament, shooting a team total 872, followed by L-C at 878, and Rocky
Mountain College at 882. Jeff Smith led the L-C men overall with a 214,
just 1 stroke behind the medalist winner. Followed by David Nuhn, who
shot a 216, and Nik Arrenbrecht with a 219 total.
Both Warrior golf teams are back in action next Monday and Tuesday, as
they travel to Helena, Mt. for another Frontier Conference tournament,
this one hosted by Carroll College.
