Katie Fuqua 5-3   Junior Cheney, WA Cheney H.S.

2005-2006: Fuqua had a very strong finish to her 2005-06 season. At the LCSC Conference Tournament Fuqua's 8th place performance helped lead the Warriors to a victory over conference rivals, and her T-18th finish at the regional championship contributed to LCSC's 2nd place finish in Region I.  

2004-2005: Finished 4th (shooting a 244) at the Montana Tech Conference Tournament, and T-8th at the University of Victoria Invitational. 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Graduated from Cheney High School (WA) in 2004...was voted Most Valuable Player in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons...placed 2nd in the East Valley Invitational, 7th place in the Big East Tournament, and finished in 3rd place at the WIGA District Tournament...four-year letterwinner in golf.

PERSONAL:  Biology with a Medical Emphasis major…daughter of Rick and Michele Fuqua.

Future goals after graduation: "Go to medical school and go into pediatrics."

Favorite things about being an athlete: "I love to golf, and I think it's wonderful that I can do it during college."

Favorite food: "Anything I can put sauerkraut on."

Favorite class: Biology. "So far, anything with Jane or Matt Brady (great teachers!)."

Favorite movie: Singing in the Rain

Favorite book: "The dictionary. I've read it a couple times now, and just can't seem to put it down."

Favorite song: Last Dance with Marye Jane by Tom Petty, or My Sweet Rose by Matt Costa

Favorite athlete: Phil Mickelson

The person who has had the most influence in your life: "Myself, I won't do anything without consulting myself first. I just won't do it."

Reason you came to LCSC: "To golf."
