LCSC women’s golf team
climbs to No. 10 in final poll
5-7-07
The
Lewis-Clark State College women’s golf team climbed two
spots to No. 10 in the final NAIA poll of the season.
The
Warriors are one of four Region I teams ranked in the
top 14 in the country. British Columbia is No. 5, the
University of Victoria is No. 13 and Rocky Mountain is
No. 14.
All
four teams are among the field that will participate in
the NAIA national tournament on May 15-18 at San Diego’s
Lake San Marcos Country Club. Twenty three teams will
compete for the title with Oklahoma City looking for its
third straight championship.
This
is the second straight year the LCSC women’s team has
qualified for nationals and the third time in the past
four years.
The
men’s final poll and field won’t be announced until
Thursday. LCSC has an outside shot of receiving an
at-large berth in the men’s national tournament.
