Last year, Thompson was named the Frontier Conference’s Men’s Coach of the Year for the fourth time and led the men’s team to its second straight conference championship. He also has helped the women’s team become a regular at the NAIA national tournament. The men’s team finished the year ranked No. 34 in the country and despite winning the conference title and being the top FC finisher at the Region I Tournament, the Warriors barely missed a berth to the national tournament. This season, the Warriors are hoping to change that. Golf World’s preseason NAIA rankings have the Warriors at No. 25 and the team is looking to remain in the Top 25 and secure a national tournament berth. Thompson led the Warrior men to conference titles in 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2006. Paul's retirement from his position as Vice President of Pepsi Cola in Lewiston, Idaho, six year's ago opened the door of opportunity to pursue collegiate coaching. With 38 years of experience in the business world, he has a strong background in fund raising and managing. Thompson makes his home in Clarkston, WA., and has been married to his wife Judy for 43 years. They have four children Polly (42), Tami (40), Todd (37), and Scott (36).
