Golf Coaches
Now
entering his seventh season as the head coach of the Warrior golf
program, Paul Thompson has brought the men’s team to the forefront
of the Frontier Conference, and has made the trip to the NAIA
national tournament more of an expectation than a hope.
Thompson
has led the men’s team
to four conference
titles, coming in
2002-03, 2004-05,
2005-06, and 2006-07,
and the women’s team
claimed the conference
title in 2005-06.
Last
season, the women’s team
earned an at-large berth
to the NAIA national
championship, where they
finished 19th overall.
The men’s team narrowly
missed claiming its
seventh conference
title, and finished the
season ranked No. 33 in
the final NAIA national
poll.
Thompson
has been named the
Frontier Conference’s
Men’s Coach of the Year
on four occasions; with
the latest coming in
2006-2007 when he led
the men’s team to its
third straight
conference championship.
Paul's
retirement from his
position as Vice
President of Pepsi Cola
in Lewiston seven years
ago opened the door of
opportunity to pursue
collegiate coaching.
With 38 years of
experience in the
business world, he has a
strong background in
fundraising and
management.
A
resident of Clarkston,
Wash., Thompson has been
married to his wife Judy
for 44 years. They have
four children Polly,
Tami, Todd, and Scott.
