April 20-21, 2009 (Salt
Lake City, UT)

One week
after we barely edged
out Rocky Mountain by
one, we headed to Salt
Lake City for
Westminster’s Frontier
Conference Tournament.
With a big conference
lead our goal was
simple, win the
tournament. The first
round was extremely
playable. Although the
greens were firm the
course played pretty
fair and the team came
in with a two over 290,
spurred by Chris Kneen’s
69. The afternoon round
brought different
challenges for many of
the team member. The
afternoon winds kicked
up, and scoring was made
even more difficult.
Ben House managed a
solid round of one under
71 to lead the team to a
score of 295. After two
rounds we found
ourselves neck and neck
with our rivals Rocky
Mountain, who had
mounted a five stroke
lead on us. Going into
the final round all the
guys were fired up and
ready to take Rocky
down. However, our
final round of 291 did
not cut it. We ended up
losing to Rocky Mountain
by just one stroke. The
loss was a dissapointing
blow, yet with a
conference lead of over
50 shots the team is
still sitting on a
pretty lead going into
next weeks Montana
tournament.
