Lewiston High School senior Kyler Nilsson has signed a letter-of-intent to play for the Lewis-Clark State College men’s golf team, Warrior coach Paul Thompson has announced.
Nilsson, the son of Lewiston High golf coach and former University of Idaho football player Shawn Nilsson, has been an outstanding athlete at LHS. Along with a stellar golf career, he was named the Inland Empire League’s Player of the Year in football.
Nilsson has been a member of the LHS varsity golf team since his freshman season. He was Lewiston’s top scorer at the Idaho State Class 5A meet as a sophomore when the Bengals finished sixth and was the No. 2 finisher last year when Lewiston was seventh.
Nilsson has won several high school and individual age group tournament titles in golf and should be a big asset to the Warrior program, Thompson said.
In football, Nilsson started at both tight end and linebacker for Lewiston, which advanced to the semifinals of the state playoffs this season.
Nilsson also has consistently been listed on Lewiston High’s Honor Roll.
