CLARKSTON, WASH. – Sophomore Chris Kneen fired a 3-under-par 68, while senior Juanita Villa had the top women’s score at 81 to help the Lewis-Clark State College men’s and women’s golf teams to victories over North Idaho College in a match at Quail Ridge Golf Course on Friday.
The Warrior men had a 289 score to kick off the spring season, while NIC was at 308. LCSC ran away with the women’s side at 332-380.
Kneen, who is from the Isle of Man, carded a 4-under-par 32 on the front nine, but he and his teammates had problems on the final two holes at Quail Ridge, which cost the team about 10 strokes, according to Warrior coach Paul Thompson.
Connor McCracken had a 72 for LCSC, while Chris Jarrett shot a 70 as a non-scoring player.
The Warrior women also were tightly bunched as the five varsity scores ranged from 81 to 85.
LCSC will be back in action on March 16-17 at the Clarkston Golf & Country Club for the LCSC Invitational. Approximately 10 teams from the Pacific Northwest and Canada are expected to take part in the event.
