Clarkston High School standout golf Joel Dahmen will join the Lewis-Clark State College men’s team this fall and play for the Warriors, LCSC coach Paul Thompson announced on Monday.
Dahmen, who graduated from Clarkston High in 2006, spent his freshman season on the University of Washington golf team where he played in four tournaments. His best finish was an even-par 216 at the Husky Invitational, which tied him for 15th overall. He did not play on the golf team the past two seasons and will be a junior, eligibility wise, Thompson said.
Dahmen was a four-year letterwinner in golf at CHS and won the state individual title both his freshman and senior seasons. He was a four-time all-Greater Spokane League selection and was the league’s MVP as a senior, when he shot a 61 at Indian Canyon in Spokane.
In the summer of 2007, he won the Washington State Men’s Amateur Championship by six strokes. He also won the 2005 Junior Americas Cup, and notched a top 40 finish at the Junior Worlds in booth 2003 and 2004.
The Warriors won the Frontier Conference title this past season, but lose three players from that squad.
