The Lewis-Clark State College men’s golf team climbed one spot in the first Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA Coaches’ Poll of the spring to No. 20.
The Warriors were ranked No. 21 in the final fall poll of 2010.
LCSC is the only Frontier Conference school to receive votes in the poll, which is a combined effort of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf, and the Golf Coaches Association of America.
After two of the three conference tournaments held during the school year, LCSC has a 36-shot advantage over Rocky Mountain for the regular season title. Carroll College is 42 shots behind. The final FC tourney is scheduled April 10-11 in Butte, Mont. The regular-season standings will then be used for pairings for the FC Tournament on April 25-26 in Missoula.
Oklahoma City recorded 11 of the 12 first-place votes in the poll to hold down the top spot while Oklahoma Christian is second.
The Warriors are back in action in a tournament on March 28-29 at St. George, Utah.
