LC men hold first-day lead over Westminster
ST. GEORGE, Utah - Jason Molner shot a 2-over-par 74 to help the Lewis-Clark State College men's golf team take a 15-shot lead over Westminster in the opening round of the Westminster Virgin Valley Showdown at the Sunbrook Golf Club on Monday.
Playing on the Pointe/Woodbridge course, Molner had the best round of the day in the match between the two Frontier Conference foes. Teammate Tyler Johnson carded a 75 as LCSC shot a team score of 311, compared to 326 for Westminster.
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
On the women's side, Westminster took a 339-360 first-day lead after its top four golfers shot 86 or better. Alana Norris led LCSC with an 87.
