Lewis-Clark State College’s Drew Reinland has been named the NAIA National Men’s Golf of the Week after his performance in the Frontier Conference Tournament last week in Missoula, Mont.
Reinland, a freshman from College Park, Wash., helped the Warriors claim the conference title at the Larchmont Golf Course with three scores of par-72 or better despite cold, windy, and sometimes rainy conditions.
Reinland shot rounds of 71, 72 and 67 to help the Warriors earn the automatic berth to the NAIA Tournament on May 24-27 in Silvis, Ill. The FC’s Freshman of the Year was toying with the course record during his final round and was 8-under-par at one point before setting for his 67.
The Warriors received a first-round bye in the conference tournament and then defeated Westminster in the semifinals. LCSC then posted two rounds of 288 for a 576 total to defeat Carroll, which had a 604, in the championship match of the bracket-style tournament.
