FULLERTON, Calif. – The Lewis-Clark State College women’s tennis team eased past Hope International 8-1, while the LCSC men’s team was narrowly defeated by Hope’s men 5-4 on Wednesday.
Ranked No. 21 in the NAIA, the LCSC women pulled off the win against the No. 20-ranked Royals without a problem. The Warriors swept the doubles matches and lost only one singles match.
On the men’s side, the No. 17-ranked LCSC men were overcome by the No. 18-ranked Royals, but not by much. Lewis-Clark State won two of the doubles matches, lost its first three singles matches, but won the No. 4 and No. 5 matches to even things up. The No. 6 match between freshman Tyler Orem of LCSC and senior Joey Nedelisky of Hope lasted three sets as Oram took the first set in a tie breaker but fell in the second and third. Nedelisky took the match 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
