LCSC tennis teams are headed for nationals
5/3/2009

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Lewis-Clark State College men’s and women’s tennis teams received berths to the NAIA national tournaments as both were ranked in the NAIA’s final Top 25 polls, which were released on Sunday.

Both the Warrior men and women were ranked No. 20 in the final poll, down one spot from last week’s polls. Each team had to be ranked in the final poll to earn automatic berths to nationals. Both are the highest ranked in their assigned regional groups, but the highest ranked team must be ranked in the top 25 in order to receive a berth.

The NAIA’s 58th annual men’s and 29th annual women’s national tournaments will be held at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala., on May 12-16. Pairings for the 24-team tournaments will be announced on Monday.

The LCSC women finished 11-11 overall, while the men are 9-11.

This will be the 16th time the LCSC women’s team has participated in the national tournament and the 19th time for the men.

Below are the lists of qualifying teams and the final polls.
